City Saunas lists public saunas in US cities: places anyone can book or walk into for a sauna session, with the facts you need before you go.

Who runs this site

City Saunas is an independent publisher. It doesn’t run a sauna, doesn’t take bookings, and isn’t affiliated with any business listed. Nobody pays to be listed or to appear higher.

How saunas are found and checked

  1. Find. We pull Google Maps listings (through DataForSEO) in the sauna, public bath, sauna club, hammam and spa categories within 20–25 miles of each city.
  2. Filter. Gyms, climbing gyms, yoga studios, hotel and resort spas, massage and med-spa businesses with a sauna on the side, sauna builders and shops, private-only mobile saunas, men-only and adult bathhouses, and closed businesses are dropped.
  3. Check. We open each remaining business’s own website and note its type, heat source, cold plunge, cheapest single-visit price, booking rules and dress code. Prices come only from the business’s own site, never from third parties. When a site doesn’t say, the listing says so. Last check: September 28, 2026.
  4. Publish. A city gets a page once it has at least 5 traditional public saunas. Infrared studios are listed but don’t count toward that.

How saunas are grouped

  • Finnish and wood-fired saunas: Hot, dry rooms heated by a wood or electric stove, where you pour water on the stones. Usually paired with a cold plunge or a lake.
  • Banyas and hammams: Russian banyas, Turkish baths and hammams: humid heat, steam rooms, often a venik (birch-leaf) or scrub treatment.
  • Korean spas: Jjimjilbang-style day spas: heated rooms, hot and cold pools, body scrubs, usually a day pass and gender-separated bath areas.
  • Bathhouses and sauna clubs: Modern bathhouses, social sauna clubs and contrast-therapy studios with a traditional sauna, cold plunge and often hot pools.
  • Infrared studios: Private rooms heated by infrared panels, at lower air temperatures than a traditional sauna. Listed separately: a different experience.

Within a group, places whose details we could confirm on their own site come first, then by number of Google reviews. Ratings are Google’s.
